Has there ever been any further news on this case? It dropped from the news quickly, but it is still very much on my mind. I’d like to update our website.

  2. 2006 November 18

Hi Sask, sorry to take so long to get back to you,

I have been looking high and low, and the most recent report I can find online is dated Aug. 9th, it details the aerial search for Julie
    http://www.cbc.ca/news/story/2006/08/09/bc-search.html

It mentions she and her husband recently bought a ranch in the Nazko area, 90 kilometres west of Quesnel. And it describes how she disapeared after a family BBQ, she went around a corner for a smoke, and vanished.

That is about all I can find!
    I wonder why the silence?

  3. 2006 November 19

I just don’t get it! She is still listed on the police website as missing. This case never attracted national attention. I emailed the Quesnel-Cariboo newspaper for info, but never received a reply.

I see only two possibilities: She had arranged her own disappearance, and maybe had someone pick her up, or she was abducted.

I wonder how this case was investigated. Phone records, cell records? Computers? Interviews?

  4. 2006 November 19

You know what really stands out to me? The recent purchase of their ranch.
I wonder who they bought it from, and what its history is. Who’s land does it boarder?

You remember this isn’t the first rancher to go missing in recent years.

She had arranged her own disappearance?

If she did that, why bother purchasing a new property with her new(ish) husband? Why the aerial search? Doesn’t sit right.

If abducted, do you think mabey she’s being held for something? And thats why the silence?

  5. 2006 November 19

PS Hi :) nice to see you.

  6. 2006 November 20

Hi! I am glad to have someone to discuss this case with. There must be more to it!

I don’t have any experience searching land records, but I know it
    can be done.

Can you tell me more about the other missing ranchers?

    Were there any children?

When I thought of abduction, I was thinking in terms of a sex crime.

Do you have any idea on how and where we could get more info?

  7. 2006 November 20

My mistake, I was refering to a family (the Jacks) who may have been offered a job at a ranch precipitating their disapearance. Yes there were two children involved.

The Father was last seen at first litre pub (in Prince George BC) leaving with a caucasian man (unknown)

    From the Doe Network
    http://www.doenetwork.us/cases/1376dmbc.html

    Ronald Jack
Missing since August 1, 1989 from Prince George, British Columbia, Canada.
    Classification: Missing

    Circumstances of Disappearance
On August 1, 1989, Ronald Jack was seen at the First Litre Pub with a white male, they left together.
A relative later told police the man offered he and his wife, Doreen, jobs either at a logging camp or at a ranch. At 1:30 am, August 2, 1989, at the Bednesti Cluculz Lake area, Ronald phoned his mother. He said they would be gone for 10 days to 2 weeks. They were packing up some of their belongings and those of their two boys, Russell and Ryan. It appeared the family had every intention of returning to their home on Strathcona Ave at some point.
They have not been seen or heard from since. According to investigators, one of three things could have happened: foul play, the family simply went off the road and have not been discovered or they left voluntarily. However, they are placing greater emphasis on the first option.

Julie is my cousin, there hasn’t been alot of info given out, not sure if it’s because it would hinder the case. I hope they don’t just call it a cold case and leave it at that, any publicity about her being missing and any information that can be provided would definately be appreciated.

Well, it’s been 10 months and it’s completely quiet regarding Julie…just to cover one comment above, Julie would never have willingly left her kids so arranging her own disappearance isn’t even a possibility. They do have a couple of suspects in the case from what I understand but cannot process anything do to lack of evidence. There was an aerial search but nothing else really…no group foot search, there hasn’t been anything else in the paper or on the news, they aren’t doing enough. Cathy I don’t have your email addy or I’d definately contact you.

  11. 2007 June 23

    Hi Rhonda and Cathy
I just do not understand the silence on Julie’s disappearance especially in this day and age of increased awareness of missing women.

I just did a google search to see what I could find and all I can find is this blog and missingwomen.com’s site.

I’ll put this on my gigantic to do list and hopefully score some time to write something on this.

I thank you very much Hazel, you’re keeping the information going, seems to me that it’s being put on the back burner and there isn’t much thought about her anymore which is disturbing to me…whatever happened to her, her mother and children need to know, her family needs to know. I am saddened by how the case is being handled.

  13. 2007 June 26

Hi Rhonda, I’m so sorry. Sometimes you know those back burner projects become the best court cases. I hope so in this case.

Do you remember Chelsey Kayla Dawn Acorn? Her case went silent after an initial flurry then finally the case broke and now there are two men in custody charged in her murder.

Also, missing people have been returned. Its not so unusual even after a year or longer. There have been 4 such cases just this past year in the media.

So keep your chin up, sometimes when it looks like nothings going to happen, something does.

Sending you an electronic hug xox

Id just like to say with all the young women listed as highway of tears victums..
WHY didnt police act faster when a women from Quesnel disappeared..
I realize quesnel is not list along the highway of tears, but stands to reason being only a couple hours from Pronce George, its possible this case is also connect to the highway of tears..maybe the gaps in the time line on the highway of tears cases is because the highway of tears streches farther then we have thought so far..
I surfer with the pain, hearack, feeling of loss for 2 friends listed as highway of tears victums, everyday that passes is another day with out answers..Its been years that Iv been trying to find answers and yet I still sit here feeling so helpless+lost..
the only thing that keeps me going from day to day is the memories i have of my missing friends..
I will pray that Julie’s family+friends will find answers..

  16. 2007 August 30

    Hello Tania,
I fear the highway of tears history is longer and reaches further than we currently know. I know that certain task forces are responsible for classifying which missing women belong to which “grouping” of missing women. There are so many! I don’t know why Julie Parker’s case hasn’t been listed as a hwy of tears case, but the police probably have their reason’s I just wish we knew what they were.

I’m so sorry to read that you’ve have two loved ones on this list.
I’ll light three candles today, one for each of your friends and one for you.

May peace find you and your friends.
    Hazel.

Hello Jodie, I can’t even begin to tell you how sorry I am, I’m sure you hear that a lot these days. I doubt it makes a dent in your grief.
This is the first I’ve learned about a split from her husband, this even after they just bought their property?

I did not know there has been so much activity on Julie’s case, there is so very little in the media. Do you have a website or blog or even a news group to communicate all these searches, awareness gatherings and to promote these ad’s?

Let me know if there is anything I can do to assist your families efforts in making some noise.

    Most sincerely,
    Hazel.

Hey Jodie, maybe you should do the radio interview, I talked with Wendy just after you two had talked on the phone and was telling her you should do the interview to get more exposure for Julie’s sake. I heard about the signs and them being ripped down everytime you and Jeff put them up, seems odd that would happen, who is causing this? Perhaps the police should be more interested in why people would rip these missing person signs down and who they are connected to. I think about Julie all the time and know she wouldn’t have left on her own free will, just wish I knew what happened and the person was held accountable now.

Does anyone else feel like all evidence is not being brought forward,
that some things are being hiden….maybe someone of authority is the one responsible for tearing down the posters and signs that were put up by Jodie and Jeff, someone of authority who knows something, but isnt giving out the information…it has been so long, and nothing. makes me wonder, does anyone else belive LONI’s interviews on the net when he claims he witnessed Deena Brahms murder, he claims it was an officer from town, that officer has been sent out of town since the interviews. all of this has me wondering if this could have been Julie as well…..if she were walking and a officer offered her a ride, would she get in the car…does anyone else wonder any of this, or am I just way off track to what everyone else is thinking….my heart goes out to everyone who loves and misses Julie very much, we can only pray for answers and never give up….

  21. 2009 May 1

    Hi Roni,

Posters being ripped down? Is this still going on?
I hadn’t considered a connection between Julie’s disappearance and Deena’s prior to your comment.
When I first encountered Lonnie it was as at the crime board I was ‘invited’ to moderate after first approaching KARE through their now defunct board. He was quite agitated and concerned about someone like you describe. I did my own research and discovered some anomalies in the emergency response calls logged during the 24 hour period of Deena’s disappearance, so yeah. I kinda thought he was onto something. I posted what I learned, including the documents. Shortly afterwards the stalking activities against me spiked. As the moderator, I was able to see users IP adresses, handles etc. It became apparent that my ’stalker’ was a member of the board. So I quit. Then the board crashed, and I was blamed for that along with other inane and nutty things, such as having the power to put hex’s on people long distance. I mean C’mon.
As you can imagine, I’ve kept my distance to those involved with the KARE board and the other crime board I was moderating. Which means I’ve fallen out of touch with Lonnie’s fight, however I continue to believe in his sincerity. I’d be interested in hearing more of your concerns about this person in authority, and how this may be connected to Julies case. I’d suggest s/he is a computer science expert.

something in my gut keeps telling me maybe it really wasnt Julies husband…for so long we have all needed answers and someone to blame….because of her husbands control issues, he was first on my list. That was untill Lonnies story. so, what if he is telling the truth. As shocking as it may be, many things lonie said, have me beleiving. so what if this has been going on for some time, what if these murders and missing girls from our small town have all gone un-answered because things are being covered up by those we trust the most. The law. Was Julie seen walking down maple drive in her bare feet and the rain early in the morning after she disapeard from outside while having a smoke. maybe while smoking, someone, possibly her husband or even someone else pulled up and told her to hop in , lets talk kinda thing. Without shoes, she went for that ride…maybe things got heated as they always did between her and her husband, and she jumped out, mad. Maybe that is when Josephine and Geraldine drove by, wondering what the heck she was doing at such early hours walking alone down maple dr with bare feet in the rain. Maybe she was heading back when someone pulled over and offered her a ride. If she got in, it would have to be someoene she would trust….someone you would never ever susspect of harming you….what if Lonnie is telling the truth, I never for one second would doubt that her husband didnt have something to do with Julies disapearance, until Lonnies story. now I dont know what to think…but no leads after all this time, could the two stories be connected, could an officer from this town be guilty….. just wondering, not accussing anyone….

  23. 2009 May 4

Hi Ronni, If Julie’s husband was involved in her disappearance I’d like to think the case would be solved by now. I don’t have nearly enough info to speculate who took Julie, or if Julie’s case and Deena’s are related. As far as there being so many unsolved murders in your town and a concern that someone in a position of trust is purposefully sabotaging progress in these cases doesn’t seem at all far fetched to me. Take a look at the DTES, how long were women going missing? how long did the task force do nothing? And who was leading said task force? A pedophile. Any possible connection to the missing women? Almost all of whom were abused as children? Hmmm….

Now lets take a look at the highway of tears cases. Again how long? How many? Do we really even know? No we don’t. The highway of tears keeps getting longer, more names keep getting added. The typical victimology of those cases match those of the late ex judge Ramsay who’s realm of influence included said Highway. btw police are STILL investigating how many other notable men were involved in these childrens victimization. Does it bother anyone else that a judge may have been responsible for covering up abuse of native teens and tweens in the very same corridor that a serial killer or killers has been picking off such girls along the highway that connects Prince George to the island?

Well it bothers me. How likely is is that all these hotspots have had police and judicial corruption involved? I mean what are the odds? Coincidence? I do not think so.

In short Roni, you are in good company. Many people including myself do not believe this carnage could be so long established without help from ‘above’.

For other’s following this thread, here is the video interview by Lonnie

Watch them, do your own research and come up with your own conclusions.

In short Lonnie witnessed the murder of a young woman later identified as Deena Braem. She was brought to sugar loaf in a cruiser driven by the late hero cop Bev Hosker. Bev’s claim to fame? Being one of the first and the few female RCMP officers in her day. Hosker did not shoot the girl as far as Lonnie could see. She was just the driver. Apparently she retired from the force right around the time of this incident and went on to advocate for parents and childrens rights. She worked effectively in supporting the education efforts of girls in her area. Though decidedly too late for Deena.
Sadly Bev Hosker died in 2003 after a tragic automobile accident while en route to Whistler for a conference. Bev’s memory was honored that very year by the below motivational award. Many have speculated that her accident was no accident but a further attempt to cover up what Lonnie is describing.

I was just wondering, does anyone have a photo of Brad Parker? When I typed his name into google, this is the only thing it came up with. Even the link offered at the beginning of the site on the original news release no longer works. The reason I am asking is that my son’s x-wife may be in a relationship with him, but the only way to be sure is to see a photo of him to know if he is the same guy? I have great concerns about her judgement especially in regard to my grandson. She is a very needy person and will go with anyone that makes her feel pretty, without regard of their character. I know that nothing was mentioned about the children of Julie and Brad, so I am assuming nothing happened to them, however, if he is guilty of murdering Julie, then he could potentially murder anyone. I am somewhat new to Quesnel, although I lived here when I was a teenager in the early to mid seventies and my family continued to live her all these years, I just returned 4 years ago. For anyones information, there was a female police officer in Quesnel when I lived here in the 70’s. One thing that I find very apalling living in Quesnel is how little is ever mentioned about anything that goes on in Quesnel in our own newspaper or radio station. I barely heard anything about Julie Parkers disappearance and I had no idea that the posters were being pulled down. I think anyone that has any stories to tell in this town should go to the Province newspaper if they want coverage. I am so sorry for Julie’s family especially because there is no closure. I hope and pray that the person responsible for her disappearance is found, however, I fear that nothing is being done on her case since this is Quesnel.
