Yoni Mudra
I’ve always been fascinated with all aspects of story telling. Including non verbal methods.
Spoken language is simply symbolic vocalizations for various concepts.
But spoken language is not the only game in town.
Only 18% of communication between two or more people is comprised of actual words, The rest is conveyed through tone, body language, and micro movements of the facial muscles.
The deaf use sign language, parents teach their infants simple signs to help them communicate their needs. Up, More, Kiss, Hug, Down, gotta pee.
Our distant ancestors (it is theorized) developed verbal language out of rudimentory gestures and intonations. Many of these ancient stone age languages are preserved in rock, paint and paper symbols, motif’s and poetry.
They are also preserved in dance, Hula, Belly, Chinese Traditional, Indian tribal, Maori Warrior’s.
True communication transcends barriers of dialect and the spoken word reaching into a vast storehouse of human cultural heritage. Carl Jeung described this storehouse of concepts, images, and borrowed memories of successive generations as the collective unconscious, its the same place from which dreams spring, and poems are born.
While searching out symbolism links I came across Phylamena’s Mudra’s and was reminded once again how the making of a symbol, whether with mouth, hands, or inner eye is like building a bridge between the vast inner world of potential, and the endless outer world of activation.
Mudra – a hand gesture used in classical East Indian dance. In Hindu mythology, gods and goddesses are portrayed with many arms: each hand is held in a different mudra, which represents a spiritual power, or siddhi. In this tradition, each of these mudras represent the transmission of a specific empowerment to you, which activates that principle within you.
I found the perfect one for my Venusian Verses tag.
Feminine Adi Shakti Primal Power Mudra – The Yoni Mudra represents getting in touch with female energies. Symbolizes a woman’s vulva.

How to form the Yoni mudra: Hands form an almond shape with joined thumbs extended upwards. Fingers are joined at tips extended downwards.
