Phishing Scams targeting Perverts

Perhaps my initial feelings about Pimp My Daughter being a hoax has something more to it than knee jerk reactionism. One of my favorite go to places for interesting and helpful reads is Rose DesRocher’s – World Outside My Window fellow blogger, poet, writer and commentator on women’s issues.
Today she has a really interesting piece about a site calling itself Marry Our daughter.
Its being described as a possible hoax or scam in both Snopes and Museum of Hoaxes. I highly suggest if you spend any time whatsoever on the internet to check these posts out. Its eye opening what people do for kicks and profit.
Anyway, it actually made me take a second look at my first gut instinct on Yummy Mummy’s Pimp My Daughter blog being a hoax.
What a better way to fry a barrel of phish than to target sex perverts rope them into some kind of online friendships and then WHAMO! Blast ‘em with the ‘ol one two Robin Hood maneuver of stealing from the corrupt?
Brilliant, subversive oh so very very bad. I love it!
Then again, I think I’m giving in to wishful thinking.
*Note to self – Sounds like the bare bones of a short story.
