Gilbert Bellegarde 31, charged

Melissa alerted me this morning that the second man charged in Amber Redman’s murder is the cousin of Patrick Bellegarde. His name is Gilbert, he’s 31 and he is also from Little Black Bear First Nation.
Serial killer’s tend to target victims within their own race. There are serial murders of Native women and girls stretching all over the country not least of which, Saskatchewan. I can’t help but think, coppers just took out two of the unknown number of serial killers stalking this country.

what gives u the right to say these men are serial killers……what happened to innocent until proven guilty?
Hi Shali, the phrase “I can’t help but think…” indicates I can’t help but to speculate. I have the right to speculate, this blog IS about speculation regarding the missing and murdered women of Canada. If these two men are innocent, then I hope that is discovered soon. And if and when it is, I promise you I’ll blog that too.
i wonder why they felt they had the need to kill her?and it might have taken two of them to kill her? i can;t think of anything else to say right now because im too disgusted.
This was a senseless act. I don’t know if they thought they “had” to kill her. We don’t yet know the cause of death or what roles either men had in her murder.
We know so little at this time.
What we do know is the younger of the two has been involved in previous serious assaults on women. in 99 he was charged with sexuall assault. the details reported were shocking and he was brutal. In 2000, he shot a woman in the face as he tried to steal her car. In court he said his actions were the result of drug and alcohol use. While Albert has a history of compulsive and violent behavior towards women, Gilbert doesn’t.
I guess we’ll have to wait to see what the cousins have to say for themselves. It’s hard to guess what someone else may be thinking or may have felt when they go and do something unthinkable.
Shali, i wonder why you trying to defend these two. i know them personally, do you? I am sure if you did than you wouldnt be so forgiving. I grew up with these men, they are my cousins, and even i wont defend them because i know them. Al is sick and a hater of women, especially when he is drunk. He can also be very nice but it will only last for so long. As soon as a woman shows her strength, he feels the need to try to break her.So shaddup, you would be singing a different tune if you were the one to lose your sister or daughter.
Im not trying to defend anyone…. But these men cannot answer any of the things that are being said about them and I just dont think its fair until everyone knows what really happened, if anyone even gets to. And all u said were things about Al, what about Gilbert. I do know this man and I feel that he could not be capable of anything to do with hurting a woman. But this is a blog and we all have our opinions…….So u shaddup.
It was my mother who was shot stealing her car and to think that it was an innocent woman who has M.S. that has gone down hill ever since the incident.Nothing even phased on this man and is back at it again…….what ever happened to RESPECT the children of this day do not have any of it and it is only gonna get worse.

I am so disgusted by what happened to your mother. I understand how delicate you mom’s health is to begin with, MS being so debilitating, and I know how quickly a shock can send her down hill. I’m so saddend to hear she is still sufferring.

You may want to know that while Gilbert has been let out to his mother’s reconnaissance, Albert was not. no bail for Albert.
