2012: Science or Superstition?
Superstition is our way of wrapping our heads around concepts too big for us to fully digest.
Got this clip from Disinfo. I can’t wait to see the movie. Been studying ‘end times prophecy’ since I was knee high to a toadstool and was told I was part of a group of non people here to usher in the end of the world and the return of Christ. My studies as you can imagine – were self protective. The notion I had no soul and was just here as ‘fodder’ was abhorrent to me. I have since rejected such notions not just because my spirit vehemently rejected such a scenario, but also because I’ve studied the shit out of this for the past 30 years.
West Coast Screening of “2012: Science Or Superstition”
My take? The world as we know it, is about to end. And for good reason too. But that isn’t any reason to panic. Everything comes to an end. That’s just nature. And as with nature, nothing comes to an end without something new being born.
The world as WE know it allows 1/3 of the total human population to live in luxury while the other 2/3rds toil in misery. The world we know is powered by fossil fuels ripped out of the belly of our mother Earth, the byproducts of which are killing the planet and us. Hunger, poverty, diseases are killing hundreds of thousands of innocent babies a day. Each day.
There are some out there who would still like to believe those babies are just ‘fodder’ for the return of Christ. There are factions in the US right now who are longing for the demise of their own nation and all the other ‘ungodly’ nations around the world so that their beloved idea of Christ, can come to fruition. I’m not providing any links for those freaks but you can google “Fred Phelps & Family” for more. Those people are just more visible than other, equally passionate groups working and praying for the destruction of the world so that Christ can return. As if the son of god needs blood shed and mayhem, poverty cruelty and violence on catastrophic scale to drop by for a how dee doo.
What ever happened to this great passage of their good book?
Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.–Matt. 18:20
I have no doubt of the existence of other ‘factors’ in the US who at this moment, and ever so diligently have been nurturing the above mentioned fanatic Christian bent to a fevered pitch poised to peak in the year 2012. I.E.

Change is coming, because change is happening all the time – all around us. How that change manifests is up to us individually & collectively. This in itself is a paradox possible of powering a transformation of a global magnitude. We’ve got the tech, the infrastructure, the brain power, and a history of rapid bursts of inspiration delineating ‘ages’, the ice gave way to stone, gave way to iron, gave way to the industrial civilization we’ve become and now… we are poised to transform ourselves yet again.
Instead of finding yourself rising with the tide of panic enveloping our countries at the moment, educate yourselves about what is possible, and remember Threat = Opportunity.

the relgious undertones create an air of fiction to your aurgument that get in the way of the facts.jesus will not return if anything a new messiah will be or could well have already been born.messiahs are no more than enlightend minds, aware of their birthright of their infinity & undying light
Religious undertones create an air of fiction… well put. Seeing as religion is fiction. Er Myth, to be politically correct- ish. The ‘facts’ you proposition are not facts at all but opinion.

My opinion on the so called messiah mindset: We are all ‘messiah’s’ . The salvation we are each responsible for is our own. My message: Stop waiting for some outside force to fix everything. Its up to us.
