Farah Fawcett Dead at 62
2009 June 25
WTF? Okay I was expecting MJ to kick any day after seeing a bloated picture of him on the telly not so long ago. I knew Farrah was fighting a horrible battle against cancer, and knew her time was limited. But both of them, today? Ed McMahon, David Carradine, Michael Jackson and now Farrah Fawcett.
What a crappy month.
RIP Sweet and Fierce Farrah.

Hazel, It was a hard day yesterday with the Pickton appeal outcome and then to hear about Farrah Fawcett and then Michael Jackson. I was very saddened to hear that Farrah had finally passed away. I know it was expected, but still a shock and I watched the documentary of her journey through her cancer struggle and really saw a very wonderful loving and intelligent human being. It brought me to tears many times and still does when I see parts of it. For me I remember mostly her TV movie ‘The Burning Bed.’ She was a true talent and so very gifted. We have lost a good soul.
Farrah was a hero to me, from Charlies Angels to the Burning Bed to her her final role as one struggling with cancer. I haven’t seen the full documentary yet, but I intend to, with a box of hankies. Before she died I saw a snippet of the film where she was retching and someone wanted to turn off the camera, she said, “No keep it rolling this is what cancer is.” Brilliant and gutsy. She was at the forefront of the sexual revolution for women, she was active in raising awareness about violence against women, specifically domestic violence and marital rape, such a taboo subject at the time, she lived her life with dignity and to her own beat. And you know what? She did all of this with a beautiful glow about her. The kind that comes from inside. OMG I’m going to miss having Farrah in the world.
