About

I am a 30 something housewife with a big mouth, and a past. How vague is that?
I blog about societal violence, human rights issues and art because I write what I know. (and or want to know)
I am not a journalist. I am not a crime reporter, special investigator or specialist of any kind.
I do what I do because I am an artist and a communicator, this blog evolved out of my journaling habits and my personal protest against societal violence. Where it’s going? Nobody knows. Not even me.
To get a taste of what I’m about, I’ve gathered four five pivital entries that pretty much lay my philosophies on the line.
- Hazel’s Creed
- Woman is the microcosm of the earth
- Mi Madra (My Mother Earth)
- Fight The Fading Of The Light (Murdered Women in Canada a Public Health Epidemic.)
- My First Year at Hazel8500 a review.
My Other Blog Campaigns
Baby Save
After ten months of blogging about the missing women cases in Canada, I began 2007 with my first published article in the brand spanking new on-line publication www.orato.com.
Orato is latin for “Speak”, and the concept of the magazine is to give a platform for non journalists to cover current events from their neck of the woods.
I’ve spent a few hours perusing stories over there about Bukowski sightings in new york, to African activists trying to eradicate the tribal customs of female circumsicion.
Please visit www.orato.com and sample a whirl wind of world events as described by the people living them.

And while you’ll forgive the small things, you don’t hand out too many second chances to people who really screw up.

Take care!
Your blog is informative and important, especially with its public service announcements. So I am adding a link to you. I’m unsure where to add your site but I’ll try to find an appropriate place.
LOL! I have the same problem, is it a blog, is it a journal, is it a scrap book of news?
I’m really honored that you would consider adding my blog to your pages, Thank you.
I’ve been wandering around the Nexus, and am very intrigued with what I read. I am a life time student of symbols, and have really enjoyed the writing you and your partner have been producing.
Hazel.
I love the purpose of this site and i believe that it will be a praised help to many people with their fears and personal pain.It is very infoemative and kept up today which is awsome, There is more need for these kind of sited………expecially with the internet highway that allows for bad people make us vonerable from all parts of the world..
God bless the work you put into this site, the caring of one human been to another.
Why did you stop blogging about the Duke “rape” case?
Did you see the 60 Minutes interview? THoughts?
No I didn’t see the interview. I havn’t actually stopped blogging about it, I just have nothing new to add at this time. I’ve been saying one thing and one thing only about this case that is, let due proccess run its course.
Not sure how familiar you are with this blog, but my focus isn’t on American News specifically, my focus is on violence against women in general, and the 7,000 + missing womens cases current in Canada.
You see, there is a silent war in this country (Canada) against a certain segment of the population, my sisters in spirit. And that’s my focus for this blog. This wholesale slaughter has been going on now since at the very least the 1950’s, and is certainly tied to organised crime prostitution and drug smuggling.

Hi Hazel,
I found your blog while doing some research in documentary on Vancouver’s missing women for CTV — just wanted to say it’s awesome, keep it up. It’s right up our alley, so maybe we can be allies? E-mail me at the address I give you for the post… talk to you soon!
Hello Jon Woodward, I’d be pleased to hear what you’re thinking. I’ll be emailing you at that address.
Peace.
Hazel.
Came across your blog while searching for updates for Project Kare. I’m currently doing Master’s research (University of Ottawa) on missing and murdered women (especially First Nations women). Maybe we could swap sources, ideas, and complaints. Love the site.
In solidarity,
Kstar
Hi Kstar, Wow, you’re masters thats wonderful!
Most certainly, you can reach me any time at hazel8500@hotmail.com.
Feel free to browse this site, there is lots of info and if you have any questions I’ll be pleased to help you however I can.
Hi there. I added you to the Melee list as you asked and came here for another visit (I’ve been here before). How awesome to find you link to the Thinspiration Petition too! Thanks so much. Would you like me to add your name to the petition at the fracas page? I don’t usually add names unless they ask, and I’m happy to link their name on the petition back to their site too.
Stop back when you have a minute and let me know, okay?
I love those lips in your header banner!
Hi fracas I’ve added my name to the petition with great pleasure.
I’m really happy to have found your site, I think its awesome.
PS thanks for the banner compliment!
Interesting that you choose arboreal names though. How about “cilcach edind” (fern ivy) as your next one? Well i suppose the your use of “frond” covered the og term for killing already.
“When people act crazy it is funny how much they can get away with”
– This is your motto right?

quite frankly I am getting tired of your lack of support with regards to our work here and wonder, what’s your purpose here if you have such little faith in our board?
You must be kidding, Willow! I’m making YOU tired? Give me a brake, would you?

You would know all you need to know about me if you opened your eyes. I’m an open book. Hazel is my family name. I’d say christian name but uh who are we kidding?
Hazel8500,
I haven’t visited your site for some time and decided to catch up on some interesting posts on your blog.
Debby and I have been busy with “NEXUS: A Neo Novel,” especially since it has generated a lot of interest from readers in Canada and UK and many of them have posted positive reviews on Amazon. In fact, due to high sales Amazon UK has run out of copies until further notice. NEXUS is also gaining momentum in the States.
How are you doing? I always love your site and I learn something new about gender issues, human rights and the world around us each time I’m on your site.
Both Debby and I love your site and we’d like to feature you on our site. You can introduce yourself and do a write up focused on an important issue that relates to spiritual ideas.
Peace out,
Arvind
PS Do you read spiritual type books? If you, then you might want to review or feature NEXUS on your site.
Hi Arvind what great timing you have, I sure appreciated your kind words. I also love your and Debbie’s Blog and enjoy it often. I am so excited about the success of Nexus, I think its a terribly important book and would be honored to review it.
I do read spiritual books. I have a library of them
I am also quite interested in that place where spirit meets matter, so quantum physics is slowly becoming a very important part of my personal philosophies and practices.
Please leave this invite with me, and I’ll work up something special for your site. I am really honored to have you ask.
Thank-you!
Sincerely
Hazel.
Hi Arvind I took some time over the past couple of days to put my philosophies regarding this site, my personal quest and in the process found the exercise helpful with regards to fleshing out the novella I am finally no longer stuck on.
This is about me and why I started this site:
http://hazel8500.wordpress.com/2007/03/27/my-muse-is-why/
And here are seven of an eight to possibly ten essays on the subject. Yeah I got busy!
http://hazel8500.wordpress.com/tag/venusian-verses/
Thank you for the interest and inspiration. I would be honored if you would like to choose something from this collection to feature on your site.
Sincerely Hazel.
Thanks for exposing the RCMP fraud. I am glad that more Liberal corruption has been exposed by the Conservatives. Even political appointees to the RCMP could not resist wrong doing. Keep up the good work!
Thank you Jill, I’m really only keeping track of media reports but it sure is something to see all these cases side by side. I’m so un political but this is seriously getting me interested in politics. I have to admit the Liberals have done a number on this country. I am very saddened by this because I think Canadians are wonderful and we deserve so much better from our leadership. As does the world for that matter at one point in history we were the international peace keepers. Now look at us.
The true hero’s in this case in my opinion are the so called “Rank and File” members of the RCMP who either put their lives at risk daily or support the men and women who do so. The good name of the RCMP and the long illustrious history of the RCMP has received a black eye because of the poor administration of a few people at the top. These five officers and one whistle blower have done more in one house sitting to restore my faith in RCMP than anything else I can think of at the moment. I know there are many many unnamed people who have assisted these six, and they are just as heroic.
I look forward to watching the RCMP re build themselves to their former glory and decency.
It’s always darkest before the dawn, I think I see the sun starting to come up!
Hazel.
