I’ve been developing a theory that the Earth’s current critical state is related to misogyny.
We treat Earth the way we (collectively) treat women on this planet; as a resource to give us stuff. (food, water, place to sleep, life)

Women are seen pretty much the same way. Think about it. We even call Earth Mother.

I have come to believe the underlying principal threatening the welfare of both, is misogyny; The unchallenged belief that Man is superior to Nature, and therefore her master.

I also wish to challenge the belief that Man is separate from Woman, which I feel contributes to his expectations of leadership, and entitlement.

Violence against any inhabitant of the world big or small, presupposes the right’s of the violator to be more valid than the victimized.

This needs to change before our resources, human, vegetable, mineral, and otherwise are completely consumed, and spent by this all pervading egotistical world view.

The word husbandry had little relation to matrimony when coined. Rather it related to the dwelling in a house. It became a title for someone who had land, livestock, a steward if you will.

Also, there was a feminine verb to husband, it was husbondi from the Norse meaning mistress of the house. If it survived into English along with its mate husband, there would be no distinction today between the two words. I wonder what a world like that would look like?

We’ve somehow lost the old knowledge that to be a husband was not a right but a privilege, an honour. The role of husbandry was neither gender specific, or dowry dependant. It was to foster and nurture life in all its forms, seed, fruit, and offspring.

Planet Earth is “Our House”, and is in great need of a husband at this time in history, a partner, a steward someone to protect and nourish the life she carries through space, a tiny oasis in the far corner of a vast universe that thanklessly, supports us all.

We, the people were to be the husband of the Earth. We, the people have instead, become the equivalent of an abusive, Narcissic overlord with only one burning thought “MORE!”
